The acquisition of a skilled nursing home facility in Lonoke, Arkansas.

A small public nursing home company, AdCare Health Systems relocated from Springfield, Ohio, to Atlanta as the health-care services provider plans an expansion in the booming South. The publicly-traded company (NYSE Amex: ADK), which operates 50 nursing homes and assisted-living facilities in seven states, views itself as a consolidator in a fragmented industry. AdCare, which employs more than 600 people in metro Atlanta, relocated its operational headquarters and senior management because the region is a financial and health-care hub.

AdCare has recently increased its presence in the Arkansas market and continues to expand into the Southern portion of the United States.
