Mike Thomas, Founder of the National Rural Lenders’ Roundtable, opened up the conference and gave a brief report on how Rural America has failed to come back from the 2009 recession like the rest of the economy.

Assistant to the Secretary for Rural Development and Keynote speaker, Anne Hazlett, shared her passion for building prosperity in Rural America.  She stated it starts with infrastructure, and praised rural lenders as a key partner in meeting the capital needs of Rural America.

USDA Administrator, Bette Brand, showcased five rural loan case studies, which were excellent examples of USDA/ private lender partnerships.

The Rural Community Infrastructure P3 Roundtable in Denver, CO was a great success! NRLR partnered and collaborated with the USDA Community Facilities Loan Program’s National Office to promote public-private partnership, increase Rural America’s access to capital for rural community infrastructure, leverage resources and expertise to better manage credit risk, ensure project sustainability and share best practices and lessons learned.
